Money Well Spent

I am not so sure if money has been as big of an issue for others as it has for me this past year, so placing this order from Wicked Skatewear has been a long time coming! My derby dream list is much longer than my placed order, and much more exciting, but alas, I will have some new digs!

My skate boots (She Devils) should be back sometime in the first week of January (derby skating starts back up January 3). I will probably (unless a work of God happens) be skating on my borrowed skates the first week.

So, what was on my derby order?

• Astro Nuts - Green
• Bushings - PowerDyne Magic Cushions - Orange - 82A medium
• Radar Tuner Wheels - Orange - 95A - Firm
• Gaskets - Knee - Triple 8
• Neon Green Criss Cross Laces

Would love to have had the money for new knee pads too, but that will have to be later in the season (before bouting starts). Gaskets really only last me around six months, but I highly recommend them to every skater.

I will post pictures of my skates with their new soles and reinforced toe box (thanks Riedell!) with their updated bushing, wheels and nuts when I get them!

Until then -

New Year, Great Start

Happy New Year
(I gave up sugar)

What a busy past six days!
I have been in Sin City, enjoying clubs, fun, and DJ Tiesto. Could sleep for days!

While I was there, I came across a "derby girls wet dream", the Las Vegas Sock Market. If your are at Roller Con this year, then you have to go. There are socks (over the knees in all colors and styles), tights, fishnets, leggings, and awesome shoelaces. Click on a link to find out more, but remember, to come right back to www.muttpuppy.blogspot.com!

The exciting news of the day is that I got my skates! Picked up the 2010 Riedell She Devils for a steal after we landed today, then headed strait to practice. The skates are amazing. I love everything about them except I have a harder time stopping. I did fall more tonight, but I was faster and more aggressive (I thought at least). Oh, and I bit through my mouth guard! Ouch. Hurt my hand, (icing it right now) feels like a little bone may have broken itself. Typing with one hand is hard, so I will make this short. Take a look at the video I posted below, and as always...Happy Blogging!

Take a look at how my skates were made!
